For The Reneabouquets Design Team, The Best Thing In The World Is Seeing Them Smile Because Of You

To make this page, I put Prima Platinum crackle paste on watercolor paper with a stencil and a small spatula.

 I taped on a layer of watercolor paper underneath the photo to help it to lie flat. I added a layer of corrugated cardboard and a watercolor paper mat. I took a piece of corrugated cardboard,ripped some of the paper off, and brushed on white gesso. While it was wet I sprinkled on embossing powder, and heated it. I added layers of corrugated cardboard in between the layers.                                                                            
I arranged the Beautiful Board,and other items around the page. I brushed on Shimmerz Paints, and glued on more beads,using Glossy Accents. Anytime I glued items on I sprinkled on Gawdie Girl Diamond Shard German Glitter Glass on top of the glue. I rubbed on gold,blue, and pearl mica powder in different areas.

I made a very loose rendition of part of the woman's dress on the right side of the page. 
              







To add visual interest I added micro beads,seed beads, glass glitter, crystals,glass beads,tulle,a shell, sisal,and bling from my stash.I used glossy accents and double sided foam tape to adhere items to the page.

“What If I Fail?  Oh But Darling, What If You Fly?”

Altered Artist Palette










I recently saw some projects on Pinterest using an artist palette as the base for some projects and really wanted to try one.  I found this one at Hobby Lobby.


The first thing I did was cover the palette with patterned paper from Ciao Bella’s “Cygne Noir” collection.  I added some texture paste with a stencil.  Across the middle of the palette I added some Venetian Embroidered Lace in white and topped it with a piece of pink lace.  The focal point of the piece is a wooden violin that I painted pink and added some Beautiful Board Angel Wings Laser Cut Chipboard to the back.  This was also painted pink and was topped with some Beautiful Board Small Butterfly Flourishes that were  painted black.  The wings were then covered with Gawdie Girl Diamond Chunky German Glitter Glass. 

The top of the violin was covered with a piece of Scallop Shell Lace and some clay pieces that were topped with Beautiful Beads Candy Flatback Pearls in white.  A ballerina was added to the top of the violin.  Sprays of mulberry roses were added to the top left and bottom right on the palette.  Some flourishes were added to the spray using Amazing Resin.  Some Reneabouquets Trim - Drop Leaf Lace was added to the left side of the palette.  Two Tiny Treasures Sweet As Candy Premium Paper Glitter Glass Butterflies were added to the palette along with one Tiny Treasures Snow White Premium Paper Glitter Glass Butterflies.  I thought the words “What if I fall?  Oh but Darling, what if you fly?” was the perfect sentiment for this piece.  A small lace and ribbon bow with heart was added to the bottom of the palette.  To finish the project the palette was edged in pearls.

"Beach Time Mini Album" by Design Team Artist Diane McClosky

"Beach Time Mini Album"

It may be February but my mind is on summertime!  I created a mini 6x6 album for my second project of the month.  I was inspired by the works of Erin Perry who is also a Design Team Artist with Reneabouquets.  I altered it to put my own spin and style on it.

The base is made from white 100 lb. card stock and the inside flaps were created with 60 lb. card stock.  Once you add all of the layers of papers it creates a sturdy album that is tied with an organza ribbon.

The front cover has been layered with two different patterns of paper from the Old Marina collection by Scrapboys.  I centered the rope frame on top of a circle that I cut with my sizzix and popped it up with a layer of foam underneath for dimension.

 The next step was to cut out the paper elements and arrange them in a pleasing manner around the frame.  I really love how the use of Reneabouquets flowers, butterflies, chipboard and all of the beads and glitter brought it all together. 

 

When you open the album, you will find a flap on each side that opens up to pockets on the inside to hold precious memories and photos.

There is also a center pocket that holds a frame for a picture of my husband and I at the beach soaking up the sun in late August.  There are also two small booklets inside the pocket to hold more pictures.

This is the third album that I have made in this format and I am extremely happy with the results of this project.  I hope I have inspired you to search out your summer photos and get started with Reneabouquets!

For The Reneabouquets Design Team, No One Is Too Old For A Fairy Tale

 "It's A Girl Thing"

Altered Embroidery Hoop


I made this altered embroidery hoop as a gift for my friend's granddaughter.  The base is an 8"  embroidery hoop which I covered the back with some black and white striped fabric.  Some white trim was added around the outside of the hoop and black lace around the outside also.  On the inside of the hoop I added a string of pearls.

The main feature of this hoop is Reneabouquets Beautiful Board Small Romance And Roses Circle Frame and Beautiful Board Large Button Doll with her string of buttons and half pearls. Behind the frame is some White Wide Floral Embroidered Lace and some Doily Lace in black. Two sprays of roses were added to the front of the hoop in black white, green and pink and dusted with some Gawdie Girl Diamond Chunky German Glitter Glass.  Some Drop Leaf Lace was added to the spray on the bottom of the hoop.  A lace bow and ribbon with a button heart was added to the top of the hoop.  Two Tiny Treasures Polka Dots & Bling Butterflies were added to finish off the hoop.
