Paradise in August Mini Album

Hello ReneaBouquets crafty friends, my name is Patti and I'm here with the Crafty City Design Team sharing a summer mini for the Paradise in August design teams collaboration!  What fun was this.  I recieved Treasure Box #1 from ReneaBouquets and was it loaded with amazing stuff, perfect for a multitude of projects!  Lets take a look at my mini so I can show you what I used.

For my mini I used one of the decorative papers from the Mintay Paradise collection from Crafty City.  I cut it and placed it so it had a teal frame from my backgroud paper all around.  To jazz it up and create that real beachy feel I used what looks like cargo netting but in actuality it's the netting that you get fruit in at the grocery store, yep it's good to save everything, lol.  I used some of the #1 Treasure Chest goodies including the Teal Pearl & Rhinestone Button sitting atop a rosette of gathered Mint Tulle Lace; the Board Laser Cut Chipboard Small Mermaids Welcome Sign;  Flatback Pearls Cotton Candy and the Silver Pink Shard Glitter.  I love how the outside turned out.

The outside measures 8"x10"x2" made from chipboard and covered in the solid teal.  Inside there are two full size flip outs one of the front and one on the back.  The spine is four sections fastened waterfall style with a multitude of pockets and tuck spots for photos and what nots.

On the front and back flaps I have fussy cut from the Mintay Paradise papers focal points that I backed with Kraft card and refussy cut along the outlines. These were then glued to the teal flaps to form four pockets front/back inside/outside.  I love the huge photos these pockets can hold either on the included mats, free and loose or glued directly to the backing cardstock.

Included in the ReneaBouquest Treasure Chest #1 were the Laser Cut Chipboard Seashell Frame and Pearls Of Wisdom Frame.

I colored these with different GlimmerMists to pick up the teals and blues of the paper.

Behind the frames I added a solid teal in the shape of the frame and a piece of acetate cut to shape atop it.  That way photos can just be sandwiched between the two.

I also included pull outs to give a template showing the size photo that would fit in each.

You could dress these up even more by adding additional embellishments included in the Treasure Box, like the butterflies, dragon flies, glitter or pearls, the ideas or only limited by your imagination.

I also snuck in a couple of paper bags to house the tags, like the ones shown here.  They were a fun addition to the flips on the spine.  When you come visit me on the video walk though (the link is below this post) I'll share each pages flips, flaps pockets and mats with you so you'll get a much better feel for the whole mini.

Because these Mintay papers are so gorgeous I tried to leave them as whole as possible, thus the extra large pockets.  I used my fav Glossy Accents in spots such as the Beach sign to give a great shimmer. and speaking of shimmer.......

I just had to share this one last photo before I leave you and meet you over on YouTube.  You'll see this glisten to it's full extent on the video because I used the Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass across the bottom of this page.  I was really nervous about using this because it's just as it says, glass shards.  You have to use a really strong glue, allow it to dry completely and then make sure you shake (over your trash can not on your floor) and loose pieces.  But my oh my there is nothing like the shimmer it leaves on your page.

OK crafty friends, for many of you this will be the first time we've met, many of you others are my old friends.  Whomever you are come join me on the video and get to know me a little better.  I'll be posting a multi-video series on the process of making the mini in the next week or so, so you'll want to come on over and subscribe so you don't miss it.
