Altered Lemon Twist Canvas

I used the Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection by Simple Stories for my project.  I started with a 8” x 8” canvas.  Added a black mat cut at 7-3/4” x 7-3/4” and then patterned paper cut at 7-1/2” x 7-1/2”.  The collection came with a set of frames so I used one of the frames and filled it in with the black and white checked paper.  I then added a few stickers to the frame.

To assemble the project, I put lace and some yellow trim at the bottom of the canvas.  Added some little Reneabouquets Soft Teal Candy to the lace.  I put foam tape on the back of the frame and glued it to the canvas.  I put the foam tape about 1” inside the edge so that I had room to go back after I was finished and add in any more layers if I needed to.

I then began adding my pieces.  The frame had a floral spray on the left side so I pretty much left that as it was.  Adding my own flowers did not look right.  I did use some Reneabouquets Lemon Blossom Tuck Ins that I topped with some Gawdie Girl Handtinted Buttercream Glitter on the frame along with the Tiny Treasures Sweet Dream Buttercream, Sweetheart Yellow and Polka Dots & Bling Butterflies, a Tiny Treasure Sugar Bee, and of course a Small Printed Beautiful Board Whisper Glass Wing Fairy.  Many of these elements were put on foam tape or dimensional elements to create lots of layers.  I added 2 Beautiful Board Sugar Bee Corner pieces at the top of my canvas and used some buttons from my stash.  A bit of cheesecloth was tucked in around the frame to give the project a bit of texture.  A Reneabouquets Queen Bee Clock Trinket at the bottom and a piece of ribbon for a hanger and my project was finished!
