Lucky Spells Haunted House
The base for this project was a 7-1/4” embroidery hoop which I painted black and adhered patterned paper to the back of the hoop along with some black ruffled lace. I used the Graphic 45 “Midnight Tales” collection for the papers and stickers used on this project. The top of the hoop had a row of bling.
The main piece to this project was the Beautiful Board Large Haunted House which I painted. I added some molding paste to my paint and dabbed it on and when dry covered it with some crackle medium to give the house a nice texture. The windows were backed with some gold metallic paper. Beautiful Board Winnie The Witch Itty Bitty was added in front of the house along with some fussy cut pumpkins from the paper collection and a black cat from the Beautiful Board Small Wanda The Wicked Witch set. The eaves of the house got some trim, two die cut ghosts, a “Lucky Spells” tag and a cheesecloth spider web and Beautiful Board Small Spider that was painted black at the top of the house.
My original thought for this project was to have the Haunted House fit inside the hoop but it was just too big so I decided to mount it so part of it hung over the sides of the hoop. I actually liked this better because it added a lot of dimension. I added some 3D dots to the back of the Haunted House when it was glued in to give it more stability.
Next was adding some more cheesecloth spider webs and Beautiful Board Small Spiders and a framed “Trick or Treat” tag framed in a Beautiful Board Tiny Butterfly Flourish Frame which was also painted the same way as the house.
To finish everything off I added a floral spray at the top of the hoop using a rose from the Plum Roses and Leaves Mulberry Paper Flower Set, two from the Mini Light Orange Mulberry Paper Roses and Leaves Set, and two from the Mini Green Mulberry Paper Roses and Leaves Set. More cheesecloth was added around the flowers for more webs. Two Tiny Treasures Glitter Glass Butterflies in Wicked Spice and Savory Spice completed the project.
