Let It Snow Altered Paintbrush

The base for this project is a 4” paint brush. I bought the bird ornament and knew I wanted to put him on a paint brush. Because he is pretty wide I needed to get some really big roses for him to sit on.

I put two coats of white paint on the paint brush and then added some white lace to the main part of the brush and some Doily Lace - Black over the white lace. A piece of the white lace was also added to the handle of the brush.

I cut three roses from the bunch I bought. The problem with them was that they were very open in the middle and not very full. So I took some round wooden balls from my stash and added them to the center of the roses and then topped them with some Mini Black Berry Mulberry Paper Roses to make the roses fuller. I like the pop of black that it brings to the project. I then hot glued the center rose to the brush standing up and added a rose on either side tucked in at an angle to make a nice resting spot for the bird. Some Silver Fine German Glitter Glass was added to the roses for some texture. A tiny treasures Polka Dots & Bling Butterfly rests among the roses and some strands of silver beads hang from the roses. I then added in the bird and a few springs of greenery. The hook on the back of the bird has a “Let It Snow” trinket from the Victorian Snowflakes Trinket set.

I cut a section of the white lace and adhered it to the handle of the brush and added two Trinket Victorian Snowflakes topped with a bit of bling. Some roses sits between them. To finish off the brush I made a bow for the top of the brush, added a snippet of the lace and a rhinestone brooch.
