Reneabouquets Altered Clipboard Swap

I made this Tim Holtz mini altered clipboard for the January Reneabouquets Clipboard Swap hosted by Laura Lindhorst on scrapbook.com. My partner liked purples so I chose Mintay's "Lavender Farm" papers for this project. The main image is from the 6x6 paper pack and fit perfectly on the clipboard to showcase a window scene with a shelf above it.

The first thing I did was remove the clip so that I could paint around the edges of the clipboard. I then adhered the patterned paper leaving a bit of the border showing. I was having a problem fitting the calendar into the scene and Laura suggested hanging it (that was still within the rules of the swap!) so I used ribbon adhered to the back of the clipboard to attach the calendar and added a few cut outs from the paper set to incorporate it into the feel of the project.

It was then time to start decorating. I added lace and trim to the bottom of the clipboard and the fairy Tessie fit perfectly in front of the window in her purple dress and glittery wings. On the shelf piece another sitting fairy picks up the green in the papers and watches over the scene. Some cut aparts were added on 3D dots for dimension. Flowers, a lace bow and buttons topped the window and flourishes finished off the sides of the clipboard. The back was also covered in patterned paper to hide the ribbons holding the calendar as well as the ribbon I put on the top to use for hanging.
