Sweet Baby Boy Card and

Crate

I made this baby boy card and crate for my niece who had a baby boy recently. The Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board Baby Blocks Bear Shaker Box was the perfect piece for this card. The papers I used were from Stamperia’s “Little Boy” collection.

The first thing I did was to assemble the shaker box using Reneabouquets video tutorial. Once it was ready to be filled with goodies I filled it with Reneabouquets Beautiful Beads Unicorn Iridescent Pearls, Beautiful Bits mini hearts, diaper pins and feet, and then added a bit of Gawdie Gird Diamond Glitter Glass to give the shaker a bit of shine.

I used a 5” x 7” cardstock base for my card and matted it with some brown corrugated paper and then added my patterned paper from Stamperia. I used some Beautiful Board adornment pieces to the four corners and topped those with Candy pearls in white.

I then decorated the outside of my shaker box using Reneabouquets Mulberry flowers in blue, white and brown, a pair of baby sneakers from my stash, and some pearls to outline the shaker box. I cut a piece of the patterned paper and adhered it to the back of my shaker box for a better background to show off the contents of the shaker box and then glued it onto my card. A chipboard piece was added to the top of the card and a Tiny Treasures Sweet Dreams Cornflower Blue Butterfly finished off my card.

I found the crate at Walmart. I liked the size but not the slats so after I painted it blue I used some chipboard to cover all the sides and the bottom so that I could cover it in patterned paper. The paper I chose was from Stamperia’s Baby Boy collection. I loved the blue/white and tan colors. I added a row of lace and pearls all around the top of the crate and pearls along the bottom and sides.

The main design I had in mind for the crate was to use Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board Small Blocks Build Your Own Name/Word Set to spell out the baby’s name. I chose the bunny and bear for each side of the name because I liked the way the bear matched the bear on the card. I added a spray of roses on each side of the name, some Beautiful Board Small Quilling Leaves Laser Cut Chipboard, buttons, Beautiful Beads Flatback Pearls, and added some sparkle to the roses with some Gawdie Girl Diamond Shard German Glitter Glass. Above the name I added a little checked bow with a Beautiful Board Beautiful Bits Shabby Heart and rosebud.

On the sides of the crate I used Beautiful Board Small Victorian Scroll Border Laser Cut Chipboard and some Beautiful Beads Flatback Pearls. All the Beautiful Board pieces were painted a tan color and then sponged over with a bit of white paint so that they matched the colors of the papers better.

The main piece on the back of the crate was a Beautiful Board Small Simply Beautiful Frame Laser Cut Chipboard that contained the words “Such A Big Miracle In Such A Little Boy”. The frame was decorated with more Flatback Pearls, roses, Gawdie Girl Diamond Shard German Glitter Glass, Beautiful Bits Shabby Heart, and another little bow with some Beautiful Board Beautiful Bits - Diaper Pin Laser Cut Chipboard. Two Tiny Treasures Butterflies in Cornflower Blue and Champagne finish off the crate!
