Happy June! Summer is almost here but for now, I am enjoying the beauty of spring and finding inspiration in the sights and smells of the season.
My first Design Team project for the month is an 8x8 canvas that showcases Reneabouquets Beautiful Board Medium Garden Gate as the focal point. I distressed the gate with white gesso and brown ink to give it a worn, aged look. I added several flowers, microbeads, and butterflies from Reneabouquets to add a touch of whimsy. The ivy vine tuck-ins are pulled apart and shaded with green ink for added dimension.
The base paper is from the Ciao Bella Flower Shop Collection. It took some time and attention to detail to fussy cut all of the elements and arrange the pieces to achieve the look I wanted, but I am happy with the finished product.
This project is my celebration of spring and all its beauty.
