SANTA SNOW GLOBE
Christmas snow globes have always captured my eye ever since I was a child. The traditional scenes under the globes never failed to mesmerize me. I have created one using the many beautiful products from Reneabouqets.
The sweet scene nestled inside is of Santa in his sleigh ready to take flight with his array of toys and sweets for all of the good little girls and boys.
For the base, I have used the largest vignette box by Tim Holtz which is covered in patterned paper by 49 and Market Christmas Spectacular Collection. The globe is also by Tim Holtz Idealogy. To begin, I painted the cork bottom in white chalk paint. Once it was dry I wrapped the bottom of the base with a snow ball lace I had in my stash. The next step was to place two miniature Christmas trees that I had previously covered in white beads, tiny red seed beads and Snow Tex. I cut the Itty Bitty Santa Sleigh in half and placed the sleigh in front of the trees. The trees and Santas Sleigh were held in place with Tim Holtz Christmas Distress Grit Paste. Once it cured, I added Snow Tex to the top of that and sprinkled with Pearl Glass Microbeads as well as Clear Glass Beads to give it added sparkle. I used some greenery from a Christmas pick to add around the tree and sleigh with a small red bell. Of course the tree had to have a star so I added a small star from the Beautiful Bits Stars and glittered it with Diamond Fine Glitter Glass. The base was then attached to a Doily Chipboard for added height and adhered to the vignette box.
I added three more miniature Christmas trees that had been decorated with beads and Snow Tex and adhered each one to the base. The peace on earth chipboard is from Tim Holtz Christmas Chipboard Set. I took the reindeer from the Santa Sleigh and adhered them to the chipboard to appear as if they were in flight.
To finish everything off, I added Reneabouqets Mini Green and Red Paper Roses with lots of greenery around the globe and scene. Everything was topped off once again with Pearl Mircorbeads and Snow Tex. The feet were added to the box to complete the beautiful Snow Globe Vignette.
I love creating in miniature and this has been the third one that I have created and given away as gifts. This one will go to my son and daughter-in-law.
I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends!
