Hello my Reneabouqet's peeps! Cherry here to share some new and absolutely adorable new goodies from Renea's store. They immediately had me concocting a little ocean story in my head.
Those seahorses....can you even? The colors....the softness....all the cuteness. I hunted in my sentiment stash for just the right thing. Both completely different but I think they both fit well.
I put wispy pieces of cheescloth and twines that kinda mimic "seawood'...at least in my imagination. It is hard to tell in the picture but the frame I turned into a shaker by adding laces instead of acetate and filling the heart with all sorts of blue yumminess.
If you peek you can see all the blue "ocean color" beads and baubs.
These hearts are also new to store.....make sure to scroll down for a complete supply list.
I added chalk paint in white round the edges for a worn whitewashed look...kinda like drift wood.
I think if "lucy and Ethel" were seahorses, they would be these two.....so I decided to make these bestfriends. I added buttons to signify bubbles along with nuvo drops to give that wet appearance.
This paper on the mermaid card is actually Easter paper but worked perfectly for these. I think it looks like coral or something you would find at the bottom of the ocean.
If you look you can see Miss Mermaid breathing in and out creating bubbles, as does her fish friend.
I think this would make a cute retirement card for someone special.

Today I am sharing some lovely Shabby Chic Christmas cards with non traditional soft pastel colors using Reneabouquets Beautiful Board pieces, jingle bells, laces and snowflake, Tonic Studios dies, Ranger Crackle paste, Nuvo glitter and other items from my stash.
It was fun to add some vintage style Christmas cards to send out to loved ones this year!
I made two very similar cards, and both are 6"x6" with a sturdy base of 110lb. cardstock in opaque white, a layer of lovely pink gingham paper by Making Memories, and layers of tattered Blue Fern Studios paper under Pink Tutu Cardstock from Tonic Studios. Topping off the card are small panels of Core'dinations pearl white card, cut with the Winter Wonderland Small Gift box dies from Tonic Studios. These small squares are all adhered unto Vellum, lending my cards a soft window-panel look.
The Centerpiece of my Cards:
The Beautiful board pieces from Reneabouquets had such innocence with the small cherubs hanging from Christmas baubles, that they inspired me to make cards that were also soft and delicate. I layered the cherubs on top of Gracie's Garden lace. If you have not yet worked with Reneabouquet laces, I urge you to try this one, it is absolutely gorgeous!!!
The cherubs seem to float on top of the window-like panels I made by layering small snowflake filled squares atop of soft vellum. I also added small gems on each small snowflake, and shards of Rainbow Quartz Triangle Glitter from Tonic Nuvo to give an extra sparkle to these cards.
I used Ranger Crackle paste to soften the pink cardstock. It added texture and made the background appear as old torn wallpaper. The sentiment "Believe" is a small stamp from my stash that I added in brown Stazon Ink onto a label cut with one of my Tonic Studios dies.
On this card, I changed the lace using Venetian Embroidered lace. I loved the edge that this lent to my card layers, as it reminds me of a string of hearts.
You can also see that I added Nuvo Drops in Blue Ice and Soft Mint. This gave another delicate finish to the cards.

Another change I made between the cards was the tattered bow I added on the corners. With a stencil I added soft pink polka dots using pink Distress ink. On the center, I also added the adorable Jingle Bells from Reneabouquets. They make the softest sound, and it's yet another interactive element you can use on your crafts.
Lastly, I also used one of the gorgeous Shabby Snowflakes in the center of the bow I also stamped with small pink Snowflakes. To finish off this beautiful board piece, I used more Nuvo drops to give it some color and shine. It is great to have pieces that you can alter to suit any project!
