Altered Shutter Frame with Jenn DuBell

Hello everyone! Jenn here today sharing a fun altered art mixed media project using lots of amazing Reneabouquets products!
I have altered a wooden shutter frame for my project. Be sure to read entire post to see the reveal of my added feature!

For my project I have used the following Reneabouquets products:

To create my project I removed the glass from the frame and the photo panel. Both the panel and shuttered were already white so I coated them with clear gesso and let them dry completely. I then added texture paste in white through a burlap pattern stencil and translucent grit paste through a bee hive patterned stencil. I added a heavy coat of beeswax embossing powder to the bee hive stenciling and heat set. this same method was used to achieve the honey effect on the beehive chipboard element.
The sentiment was coated in clear embossing ink and a shimmery pink embossing powder and heat set.
For the bee elements, I used alcohol markers to color them and added a shimmery honey colored embossing to the wings.

For an added fun feature I added a magnet set to the back of my photo panel and to a piece of chipboard. My photo can now be changed out by sticking any photo to the chipboard and then placing in the frame! So Fun!

Here are a few closer looks.....
