"Be Curious" Mixed Media Vintage Layout by Toni

Hi everyone, hope you all are staying safe and healthy. Today I have for you a layout filled with mixed media layers and textures. 

I first started by adding some machine stitching around the perimeter of the layout then I wanted to add some texture to the base of the layout utilizing some textured crackle paste through different stencils. I chose the Beautiful Board pieces I wanted to use and gave them all a coat of Rock Candy Crackle Paint.

 

The Beautiful Board pieces I chose were Beautiful board Large April In Paris Adornment Pattern,  Beautiful Board Deco Gears Set of 4 Laser Cut Chipboard,  Beautiful Board April In Paris Doily #2 Set of 3 (I used the largest doily).  I then decided to create a little book out of vintage stained papers which I took about 7 and sewed down the middle to create pages. Then ran it through a texture fade with the alphabet and distressed the pages with distress oxide ink.

For a pretty vintage feel I used Reneabouquets White Wide Floral Embroidered Lace.  The Butterfly I used on this layout is the Salted Caramel Premium Paper Glitter Glass Butterflies.   

It was now time to add the flowers, The flowers I chose are Dark Brown Roses Mulberry Paper Flower Set, Soft Peach Roses And Leaves Mulberry Paper Flower Set, Mini Soft Peach Mulberry Paper Flower Set, Antique Linen Roses, Gardenia And Leaves Flower Set and Peach Roses And Leaves Mulberry Paper Flower Set. 

To compliment the layout I added some sparkle utilizing Reneabouquets Gawdie Girl Diamond Chunky German Glitter Glass. I hope you enjoyed this layout and now for your pleasure I have added a video of me creating this layout below. Hope you enjoy ..... blessings. 

"Hello Winter" Altered Frame by Toni

Hi crafty friends, today I have for you a home decor piece to decorate your home for the winter. Yes Christmas may be over but winter is not, so let's celebrate it. 

I started with a sign that I purchased at the Dollar Store I added the frame from  the kit Beautiful Box Large Decorative Snowflake Shaker Box With Frame. Then I gave the entire project a coat of white chalk paint. Then added my background cardstock embellished with the beautiful Wide Floral Embroidered Lace in White and used a large snowflake cookie cutter from my stash. I had this very large snowflake cookie cutter and wanted it to be the foundation of my composition. 

I then diecut these cute ice skates and placed them on top of the cookie cutter. I adorned them with the sweet Trinkets Set of 6 Victorian Snowflakes from RB store. 

The florals I used are White Roses, Gardenias & Leaves Mulberry, Mini White Mulberry Paper Roses And Leaves Set of 24 and also Antique Linen Roses, Gardenia And Leaves.  I then tucked inside one of the Beautiful Board Large First Snow Snowflakes.  Now what would a project be with out a bit of sparkle. So I added Gawdie Girl Diamond Chunky German Glitter Glass. around the perimeter of the large snowflake.

Mixed Media Autumn Layout by Toni

 Happy Thursday everyone. I'm up on the blog today with a new mixed media layout featuring several fall items from Reneabouquets store. 

As many of you know, I love to create my layouts with lots of layers. This gives me the ability to tuck in  flowers, beautiful board, ephemera etc. I started by creating the background dimensional adding my papers on cardboard to give it height. I started by adding some Ivory Wide Floral Embroidered Lace which always provides a sweet vintage feel. Then I prepped my different beautiful board pieces. Some I painted white which would be Beautiful Board Ornate Leaves Tuck Ins , I then embossed with brass embossing powder the Beautiful Board Fancy Fall Tuck Ins , and some I distressed with Oxide Distress Inks which would be Beautiful Board Large Fancy Fall Corners 

The Beautiful Board Large Pumpkin Patch Set I painted white and then the background paper I covered it with Gawdie Girl Chunky Glitter Glass in Buttercream and Gawdie Girl Chunky Glitter Glass in Diamond 

The flowers I then chose to use are the Soft Peach Roses & Leaves, as well as Mini Soft Peach Mulberry Roses & Leaves. I then used Honey Roses & Leaves. Reneabouquets has some wonderfully unique trinkets in the store to use as well and I used Tarnished Brass Pocket Watch and I cut an image to put inside and then the glass part is actually a large floral stone I got a bag of these at the Dollar Store. I completed the layout by adding a couple of Reneabouquets precious handmade butterflies and the ones I used are Sweet Dreams Premium Paper Butterflies in Buttercream

Mixed Media Christmas Gift Bags by Toni

 Hi everyone, it's time to get a head start on your Christmas crafts and today I have a fun idea to use for those inexpensive paper bags. Let's put your own creative spin on some of them. Let's get started. 

I purchased these bags at the Dollar Store and decided to add some artwork to the front of them. Reneabouquets store is plump full of beautiful Christmas ornate goodies to add to your projects. I started with both by adding some texture with a some stamping with embossing powder and then stenciled using texture paste. In the video below you can watch my creative process. The bag on the right I used Printed Beautiful Board Small Holly And Berry Corners With Tuck Ins and also Beautiful Words Small Merry And Bright Laser Cut Chipboard . The flowers used are listed below. 

Featured on the bag above is the Printed Beautiful Board Small Christmas Belle Laser Cut Chipboard which was blinged up with our 2 Ounce Gawdie Girl Diamond Fine German Glitter Glass 

and I also used our Beautiful Words Stackable Merry Christmas Laser Cut Chipboard  which I embossed with silver powder. Tucked underneath the large poinsettia is some White Wide Floral Embroidered Lace .

The flowers I used on this bag are the Christmas Burgundy Mulberry Poinsettias, Mini Roses and Holly Leaves Flowers and White Roses Gardenias & Leaves Mulberry Flowers . I also added some greenery and tinsel from my stash and then used the sweet Butterfly Kisses Delicate Beauty Single Side Printed Butterflies . To finish it off I splattered white ink on top to provide a frosty vision. Hope you were inspired and hope you give this a try. xoxo

Altered Vintage Drawer and Cigar Box by Toni

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. I don't know about you but I love having my crafty goodies  all organized and I love putting them in pretty containers. So today I have for you a couple of altered pieces that I created to hold my Reneabouquets Butterflies and also Reneabouquets Laces.

First up is a vintage sewing machine drawer that I had purchased sometime last year at an antique store. I thought it would be really fun to hold all my pretty laces that I use to create with. So here we go.

I first began by giving my drawer a coat of white gesso to prime the surface, then once dried, I rubbed the wax from a candle all over the surface and then gave it a coat of Waverly White Chalk Paint. The wax works as a resist and you can then take a piece of sand paper and distress your edges very easily. I then used Blue Ferns Jane's Memoirs paper collection to add to the outside and inside of the drawer.  

This is a close up of the front of the drawer and as you can see Reneabouquets store has so many different things to bling up your projects. All the supplies that I used will be listed below as well as there website. I decided to store all my Reneabouquets Laces in this drawer. The photo below is the sides of the drawer.                                

Now onto the next project. I started off with an old cigar box that I also purchased at the same antique store last year. Gave it a coat of white gesso and then also painted it with Waverly's white chalk paint. 

I used the same paper collection from Blue Fern (Jane's Memoirs). I used an old dresser knob for the top of the lid to assist in opening the box. All of the RB Beautiful Board that I used I embossed with bronze powder.  

 Here is a closeup of the top of the box. The handmade flowers that Reneabouquets store has are gorgeous and come so many yummy colors. I topped them with Diamond Chunky Glitter that you can get at the store as well.  

This photo is the front of the cigar box and I once again used the beautiful mulberry flowers from the store, the glass vial is filled with Gawdy Girl Diamond Chunky Glitter .

Queen Bee Handbag and Sketchbook DT project for Reneabouquets

Hi crafty friends,

For this month I want to share with you another fun project I made using Items from Reneabouquets and Tonic Studios dies.

I wanted to make something ultra lush, as I would be working with the Glass Wing Queen Bees from Reneabouquets. As we all know, there is only one queen in the hive, and for this queen, a beautiful handbag and sketchbook are essential!

Here is the couple with the hexagon shaped handbag covered in a beautiful handmade flower bouquet. Each handmade flower is delicately sprinkled with Gawdie Girl Pink Chunky German Glitter Glass. Grouped along the top of the handbag are also Beautiful Board Hexagon Elements Laser Cut Chipboard pieces that are embossed in gold, and scattered with Moonstone beads. I also added layers of embossed vellum resembling honeycombs, and hand-colored roses made with a Tonic Studios stamp and alcohol markers. Underneath is a piece of Ivory Wide Floral Embroidered Lace.This will surely provide a safe landing for any queen bee!

Along the side of the handbag, I wanted to ensure to add a handle, so I crafted one out of gold cord, and attached it to the bag with Tonic Studios die cuts that I layered with gold and black cardstock. Small black sequins top off the faux clasps. The base is also dry embossed in a honeycomb pattern, and topped with cascading hearts created with Nuvo expanding mousse and Finnabair golden nugget effect paste. The entire thing is also sprayed in gold.

Here you can see the queen bee front and center. She tops a piece of Beautiful Board Large Stackable Honey Bee Pattern that has been altered with Finnabair golden nugget effect paste,and sprinkled with pale pink microbeads. It all rests on the hexagon embossed front of the handbag.

Take a closer look at the detail in the Glass Wing Queen Bee. They are so amazing!

Now, lets look at the sketchbook! It fits comfortably inside of the handbag, but it is also made to fit the theme very nicely. On the cover, you see another grouping, only this time I used the Beautiful Board Medium Honey Bee Chipboard. To make it cohesive, I also colored it using my Nuvo alcohol markers and Nuvo Gold marker. The decorative pieces are also sprinkled with Gawdie girl pink glitter and moonstones, and they all rest on a bed of honeycomb chipboard pieces topped with vellum honeycombs, and lovely red roses. The phrase "Inspire",and the Notebook pages are all cut using Tonic Studios dies. 

On this page, I recycled a piece of clear packaging and created a page by embossing it in a honeycomb pattern. Using a lovely stamped phrase shared by a friend, I adorned the page by framing it out with more vellum embossed pieces as well as the hand-colored roses and yet another gorgeous GlassWinged Queen Bee. In the background you can see the pages, They alternate between sketch papers and mixed media papers for a fun sketchbook.

Never forgetting the words that inspire me to create... I incorporated some scripture verses on key pages in this sketchbook. Here, I adorned the page with a piece of Beautiful Board Large Stackable Honey Bee Pattern, only this time I cut it in half to fit my page, added black embossing powder to make it shine, and sprinkled it with small moonstones. 

On this page I did the same, only here I embossed the honeycomb pattern beautiful board in gold, added moonstones and gems from my stash, and added a beautiful Proverb. 

For the last page, I decided to add a pocket. I dry embossed and stenciled the paper, then added photo corners as a decorative element. To finish, it, I added a piece of applique given to me by a sweet crafter, and altered it using gawdie girl pink glitter, pearls and gems from my stash, and a beautiful 

Reneabouquets Queen Bee Clock Charms .

"Oh Christmas Tree" by Toni

Merry Christmas everyone, today I have a fun vintage, shabby, styled Christmas Tree, using some beautiful laces as well as some "New" Beautiful Board pieces from Reneabouquets store. Hope you enjoy !

Starting with a styrofoam cone I cut pieces of the lace and attached it using hot glue and then crystal tip pins for some pretty bling. All the products used will be listed below. To watch how I adhered the laces I have a video also below for your viewing pleasure. 

One of the "New" printed beautiful board pieces is this "Sisters" and I added some Diamond Glass Glitter to their dresses and sat them under the tree. 

Another "New" piece is this Beautiful Board Snowflake Doily (set of 3). I used the small for the tree topper and added the Wedding Pearl and Rhinestone Button to the middle. The medium snowflake was cut apart and adhered to the middle portion of the tree (you can view this better in the video) and the large snowflake was used as the base of the tree. All were blinged up with the Diamond Glass Glitter.

Vintage Trunk Mini Album by Toni

Hi everyone, and happy Monday ! Today I have a new project filled with Reneabouquets goodies and I'm so excited to share it with you.

Reneabouquets has such a gorgeous selection of beautiful board, flowers, laces and trinkets, not to mention her handmade butterflies, that can take your mini album over to the next level. Sometimes I really have a difficult time not adding too much, because everything is so pretty to work with. 

On the front I added some gorgeous lace from the store and embellished it with several different handmade mulberry flowers and RB Salted Caramel butterfly. All the beautiful board used was embossed with Brass embossing powder. And what about that brooch...isn't it gorgeous. 

The handle on the top of the album is actually a door handle which I whitewashed it and then lightly embossed it also with the brass EP. 

To open, you lift the top and the sides come down (almost like an explosion box). And inside I have waterfalls, accordion pages, as well as tags, and hidden pockets. You can actually see all of this more in detail in the video below where I will take to page by page and share details of the album. 

Here are a couple pages of the album featuring on the right, a waterfall section and on the left and accordion fold out tiny mini album.
